
Erin Braasch studied dance and theatre at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She danced with the Macon Moving Company Dance Theatre in Macon, Georgia from 1997-1999. She has been a corpe and principal member of the Asheville Contemporary Dance Theatre since 1999. In 2006 she was featured in the title role in, “The Loves of Tina Modotti.” She was also featured as “La Gata con Botas” in ACDT’s children’s production of the same name, which toured to the 1st Annual International Children’s Dance Festival in Merida, Mexico in December 2006.
Erin’s interest in collaborative creation has lead to her active participation as an artist and co-director in the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival, now in its 6th season. In 2006 she was a collaborating artist in “Veil of a Fractured Moon,” which won the Fringe Award for Collaboration Across Genres.
In addition to Modern Dance, Erin creates choreography for high school and community theatre groups. Shows have included West Side Story, Godspell, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Crazy for You and The Music Man.
